You Have A Budget!

Great job! You’re on your way to total control of your money.

Now that you’ve built your budget, let’s review how to use it.

Let’s pretend you don’t have money set aside for Groceries yet. When a category doesn’t have money, it will appear gray.

You need to Assign money to this category in order to spend it later.

Let’s say you Assign half of what you need for the month—the first 2 weeks.

Since this category still needs more money, it will appear yellow.

When you spend money, the Available to Spend amount goes down. Watch that amount—spending more than you have will make your category Overspent.

Import transactions or record them yourself to keep track of spending and keep your Available to Spend amounts up to date.

When a category has the money it needs for the month, it will appear green.

If you spend all the money in the category, it will turn gray again.

Then you can Assign money again next month, to fill it back up!
